Strongholds is a multiplayer gametype for Halo 5: Guardians and Halo Wars 2, that focuses on capturing three static territories. Strongholds was featured in week 3 of the multiplayer beta and playable on Eden, Empire, and Regret.[1]
Gameplay
Strongholds plays much like Dominion in Halo 4, where you capture a "base" to score points. In Strongholds, the first team to score 100 points won the game. Scoring points requires teams to capture a non-moving base and defend it from the enemy team. 343 Industries says they designed the game type so that it would be hard to control all three points at the same time without stretching one's team too thin.[2]
