Differences between ship templates bugging me[edit]

Should this template be more in line with the Covenant's ship template? I mean, the pictures on this thing are centered, and the ones on the Covenant template are left justified, just kinda bothers me. Black Mercy 22:28, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

I've taken the covenant template as a base and modified it for the UNSC template. Might still be some quirks in it, so feel free to correct the mistakes. Copycatken 17:50, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Wombat[edit]

I took out the wombat as it has only appeared as concept art. If we placed concept vehicles in the template, it would have many more vehicles, so lets stay to canon. If someone disagrees, please undo my edit.--67.171.46.168 22:22, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Rename?[edit]

I've noticed that we've been allowing civilian ships onto this template. Should we remove them or change the template's name?-- Forerunner 19:57, 23 February 2011 (EST)

We should just remove them. The UNSC navy is not affiliated with civilians ships. We should make a new template for civilian ships. DA BEST 20:27, 23 February 2011 (EST)

Name and content[edit]

This template's name is UNSC Ships, not Human Ships. That said, does it really make sense to include civilian vessels on this template? The only examples that we know to have been used by the UEG (specifically the CAA) are the Springhill and the Star Charter. Everything else has been seen in the hands of private citizens and corporations, local/planetary governments, and even Innies, but not the UNSC. I think this template should live up to its name and deal solely with vessels in UNSC service. --Our answer is at hand. Gravemind.svg (Talk to me.) 09:17, 9 April 2016 (EDT)

Agreed. --NightHammer(talk)(contribs) 12:08, 9 April 2016 (EDT)

Orbital defense platform[edit]

ODPs may be semi-mobile, but it's only for the sake of target acquisition and perhaps orbit correction. That doesn't really qualify them to be categorized as ships. Do they really need to be listed on this template? --Our answer is at hand. Gravemind.svg (Talk to me.) 10:09, 15 November 2016 (EST)

I'm inclined to agree. They are more so space stations if anything. Though I'm fine if we do leave it on. --NightHammer(talk)(contribs) 21:50, 10 December 2016 (EST)
Would space stations like Gamma Station, the MAC stations, Ivanoff, Munera, etc. be in their own category? Cairo station is not a ship, despite being in UNSC service. -ScaleMaster117 (talk) 10:06, 11 December 2016 (EST)

Rename to Human Ships[edit]

I was wanting to bring this up. What do we do about these ships? Mariner-class transport ship(One of which is the Ace of Spades) and Star Charter-class colony support ship.

Cause I wanna suggest updating this Template so its Human Ships. More than just UNSC Ships. Seems really close-minded keeping it to one Faction in my eyes. Even more confusing when we don't do it for the Covenant and Sangheili ships.-CIA391 (talk) 04:14, 2 March 2017 (EST)

I bring this back up as I think it seriously is worth changing?-CIA391 (talk) 09:46, 5 June 2017 (EDT)
I completely agree. Wait a day or so in order to hear out any objections (which I really don't expect). After that, feel free to rename and update the template. --Our answer is at hand. Gravemind.svg (Talk to me.) 10:10, 5 June 2017 (EDT)
That's odd. I thought this template was already renamed to Human Ships. Support.svg Supportsubtank 12:59, 6 June 2017 (EDT)
