Dr. Canterfeld was a high-ranking scientist during the Human-Covenant War.[1] In 2547 Dr. Catherine Halsey contacted him while performing research on Slipstream Space. Halsey was attempting to determine the feasibility of creating fractal AI housing in the slipstream, and the fact that Canterfeld had the highest level contacts and support at the United Nations made him a valuable resource. Halsey intentionally kept him in the dark about what she was doing.
