The Malta Station is an Orbital Defence Platform, similar to [[Cairo Station]]. It appears in the [[Cairo Station (Level)]]. It is in orbit over the small island (and country) of Malta. At one point in the level it can be seen exploding as a result of a Covenant bomb. During gameplay, you can listen to radio transmissions between Malta and Cairo. The crew of the Malta believes to have driven off the Covenant, while the enemy is really escaping from the blast radius of the bomb they've placed inside.

Twenty orbital [[Super-MAC Cannons]] were used to defend the planet [[Reach]] from Covenant invasion, but they soon fell as the [[Covenant]] destroyed the underground generators that powered them.  The planet [[Earth]] had 16, but production was stepped up quickly after [[Halo: The Fall of Reach]], bringing the total up to 300.  Some of the more famed Super MAC Orbital Stations above Earth are:
