The Sangheili Storm is a rank of Sangheili serving under Jul 'Mdama's Covenant faction. Sangheili Storm are essentially the military backbone of the faction.[1][2] Sangheili of this rank are also present in Vata 'Gajat mercenary group, formerly part of 'Mdama's Covenant.

Description

Sangheili Storm are the lowest-ranking Sangheili in the modern Covenant, although they still outrank the Kig-Yar and Unggoy. They serve virtually the same role as the Sangheili Minors that served in the original Covenant. A majority of the Sangheili serving in the reformed Covenant fall under the Sangheili Storm class. Sangheili Storm often lead lower-ranking Unggoy and Kig-Yar on the battlefield, while reporting to higher-ranking Sangheili Commanders or Zealots.[1]

Equipment

The armor of a Sangheili Storm is simple and sleek. Although, it is efficient for their combat purposes.[1] One aspect they differ in largely from the Sangheili Minor is their combat harness. The Storm combat harness can be found in blue, green, red, and white. Also, whereas the Minor combat harness covers the entire body, the Storm combat harness leaves the wearer's arms exposed.

Sangheili Storm are often armed with storm rifles and Covenant carbines, while using a Type-33 Needler or a Type-25 plasma pistol for a sidearm. Occasionally, they will wield explosive weaponry, like the Type-33 fuel rod guns or Type-50 concussion rifles. Contrary to the original Covenant, this reformed sect seems less stringent about traditional wielding protocol; as such, Sangheili Storm class are quite often seen wielding energy swords.[3] Sangheili Storm will sometimes use Forerunner weaponry, like the Z-110 boltshot.[4]

Gameplay

Sangheili Storm typically carry only storm rifles and Covenant carbines and very rarely wield energy swords throughout the Halo 4 campaign.[5] Like their Minor counterparts, their shields are weaker and they are more likely to make mistakes in combat than the higher ranking Sangheili, especially on lower difficulties.
