Were you looking for Huragok, the species often known as Engineers, or the Engineer MJOLNIR variant?

Engineers were a rate in Forerunner society, seemingly encompassing the Builders' biomechanical servant-tools known as Huragok. Despite being conscious, sapient individuals, the Huragok were not regarded as equal to Forerunner citizens.[1] They were the only rate not represented in the Capital Court,[2] and were not allowed among upper-class Forerunners, as their gas bladders produced odors regarded as unpleasant.[1][note 1]

Notes

  1. ^ The Engineer rate's connection to the Huragok is never directly stated, although it can be inferred from the context in which it is referred to. The rate is only mentioned once, when Bornstellar states that all rates except for the Engineers were represented in the Capital Court. Since their exclusion or even their nature is not explained further, it is assumed that they are synonymous with the Huragok who are earlier stated as being treated more as tools than citizens. The Halo: Cryptum pre-release glossary on Halo Waypoint refers to the plasma jockeys as "Engineers", seemingly suggesting they are part of the Engineer rate; however, the term "engineer" is not capitalized in the novel in reference to the plasma jockeys, who are instead implied to be part of the Miner rate.
