*Vol's name does not include the apostrophe that typically precedes Sangheili clan names. From a production standpoint this is likely an oversight; in-universe, it may have been excised due to difficulty in pronouncing the glottal click the apostrophe signifies.

Commander Sarah Palmer

Parg Vol was a Sangheili warrior, terrorist, and known associate of Shipmaster Jul 'Mdama. In February 2558, he led Covenant ground forces during the early stages of the Second Battle of Requiem.[1]

Biography

Soon after securing a foothold on Requiem, the UNSC learned of Vol's then-current location. He had been overseeing a supply dump of captured UNSC matériel in the Quarry. SPARTAN-IV Fireteam Crimson were deployed to assassinate Vol, though the Elite escaped aboard a Phantom as his forces engaged the Spartans.[1]

As Fireteam Crimson were extracted from the supply dump, Parg Vol launched an attack on ONI's Galileo Base.[1] He was sighted by Marine sentries during the attack, though he again escaped shortly after Crimson's arrival.[2] UNSC forces eventually tracked him a Forerunner structure called the Gate, which had recently been retaken from the UNSC. Commander Sarah Palmer redeployed Fireteam Crimson to kill the terrorist. After fighting through local Covenant forces of roughly company strength, the Spartans killed Parg Vol and eliminated all remaining hostiles.[3]

Trivia

  • Parg Vol is the first Sangheili to be identified by name in-game.
  • Vol's name does not include the apostrophe that typically precedes Sangheili clan names. From a production standpoint this is likely an oversight; in-universe, it may have been excised due to difficulty in pronouncing the glottal click the apostrophe signifies.
