The Covenant remnant arrived at its location first, immediately securing the area and began looking for it. [[Fireteam Crimson]] arrived later, after they discovered its location from a map found in an area known as "Refuge". Upon eliminating Covenant and [[Promethean]] forces in the area Crimson discovers the artifact and moves to secure it.
