Since there is some dispute on this issue, it may as well get discussed. | |||
My view is we have to go by the canon armament information given by 343 which states Infinity's main guns are MACs. There is no record that Infinity is armed with reverse engineered Forerunner or Covenant weapons, all of the guns seen in other cutscenes and gameplay are of human designs. | |||
The visual 'beam' like look of Infinity's main weapons are simply that, a visual effect that looks cool. In canon, they're MAC rounds because nothing else makes sense. If later information is released that they are infact some sort of laser or projector weapon, we can always chance it. This isn't the first time canon information has been misrepresented in visuals. |
