Rio de Janeiro is a major city in Brazil.
History
Sometime around 2558 the city was gaining an increasing number of Covenant species seeking asylum on Earth. At some point Majestic Squad, minus Thorne, was deployed there. A Sangheili attempted to detonate a HAVOK tactical nuclear weapon in the city, but was stopped.[1]
