Dominion is a game mode in Halo 4 wherein players compete to capture and hold bases from the opposition. A win is attained when a team captures all available bases and then kills all members of the opposition or when the timer runs out and victory is given to the team that captured the most bases.[1]
Rules and Playstyle
By maintaining control of captured bases the bases become fortified, bringing automatic turrets and shields online to aid defense. The bases are also periodically resupplied with new vehicles and weapons. Once all available bases are captured by one team, the members of the losing team are granted overshields to allow them the possibility of recapturing a base and cannot respawn when killed; this is known as the "Last Stand." A match is won when either an entire losing team is killed while in Last Stand, or when the timer expires and the victory goes to the team that captured the most bases.[1]
