It's pretty much like that, though I would argue there are instances where using the human names is acceptable in an in-universe context too, if only for the sake of avoiding excessive repetition (though the native names take precedence). It's not a huge deal either way, just something to consider.

Actually, disregard the majority message. I think I understand what you mean, for the most part. Real-life perspective = human or native names and in-universe = native names. Sorry about that, my carelessness.

Ah. Thanks for the heads-up. Sorry about that. I'm a bit OCD about things like that. Part of having Aspergers Syndrome :P What about articles such as battles, species pages, ranks, weapons etc? Should level transcripts and things like that use the human-given names for the species?

Just a heads-up: There's no real need to treat the human names for the Covenant species as if they're profanities, particularly in plot summaries, level transcripts, trivia sections, and the like. It's true that the native Covenant names should be preferred in in-universe accounts, but it's not wrong to employ less formal terminology in sections or articles written from a real-world perspective (you can, for instance, say both "Sangheili" and "Elite" in a plot summary or trivia section).
