First introduced in ''[[Halo Infinite]]'', '''weapon classes''' are labels applied to weapons which concisely describe their functionality, to help players more easily understand how to use them. When standing near a dropped weapon or [[weapon pad]] for an extended time, the weapon's class alongside its firing mode and effective range will appear in text beneath the pickup prompt.
