The '''Unggoy Minor''' is the lowest and most common [[Covenant Empire|Covenant]] [[Unggoy]] rank. They are almost always infantry and are the most common infantry unit in the [[Covenant Army]].

==Description==
Minors are the lowest form of rank in the Unggoy ranking system, essentially being little more than cannon fodder, although they prove much more of a threat in large numbers. They are one of the most common enemies, rivaled only by the [[Flood]] [[Flood Infection Forms|infection forms]]. However, on higher difficulties, such as [[Heroic]] and [[Legendary]], they became somewhat uncommon, mostly replaced with [[Unggoy Major]]s and [[Unggoy Ultra|Ultras]].

Bearing light-orange methane breathers and armor, [[Sangheili]] and [[Jiralhanae]] often send them into battle with little or no remorse.

Minors are the rough equivalent of the [[UNSC]] [[Private]]. Theoretically equal in rank to [[Kig-yar]] [[Kig-yar Minor|Minors]], they will often be seen in groups with several other Unggoy Minors, usually being led by an Unggoy Major, Sangheili, or Jiralhanae. Minors exhibit various combat behaviors when their commander is killed; the most common combat behavior being to simply retreat and seek cover, or arming themselves with plasma grenades and attempting to perform a [[Suicide Attack|suicide attack]] by charging towards the enemy.

==Trivia==
*Minor Grunts usually do not throw [[Plasma Grenades]], but when they do, they sometimes throw them at point-blank range and accidentally kill themselves instead of the player. This is true and becomes much more dangerous when the [[Catch]] skull is activated.
*Unggoy Minors appear in almost every level where you meet Covenant in all five Halo games.
*In ''Halo: Reach'', Minors are the only Unggoy to undergo little to no change in appearance.
