In [[2494]] the ''Jericho'' was sent after the Insurrectionist-captured ship, [[UNSC Callisto|UNSC ''Callisto'']], in what would come to be known as the [[Callisto Incident|''Callisto'' Incident]].

When the UNSC Corvette ''Callisto'' was captured by [[Insurrectionists]], the UNSC sent a group of destroyers to recapture it: the ''Jericho'', the [[UNSC Las Vegas|''Las Vegas'']], and the [[UNSC Buenos Aires|''Buenos Aires'']].

On March 2, 2494, the group found the ''Callisto'' in the [[26 Draconis System]], and the destroyers each fired six of their [[Ares Missile]]s. However, the ''Callisto'' managed to avoid destruction by hiding behind an asteroid. They then detonated it towards the UNSC ships by using a nuclear warhead that had been planted earlier. The ''Buenos Aires'' was destroyed and lost with all hands. The ''Jericho'' and ''Las Vegas'' were severely damaged.
