The UNSC ''Brasidas'' participated in the [[Battle of Earth]] on [[2552#October|October 20, 2552]]. During the battle, ''Brasidas'' fired one of its [[Magnetic Accelerator Cannon]]s from orbit towards the surface of [[Earth]] to disable a [[Type-47A Scarab]] in the city of [[Mombasa]], [[Africa]] on [[Earth]]. With the Scarab disabled, [[UNSC Marines]] engaged the Scarab's surviving personnel in an attempt to recover the walker.<ref name="mombasa waypoint"/>

The ''Brasidas'' was part of Admiral [[Carl Patterson]]'s [[battle group]] sent to [[Onyx]] to retrieve [[Catherine Halsey|Dr. Catherine Halsey]] as well as the [[SPARTAN-II]]s and [[SPARTAN-III program|III]]s stationed on the planet.
