{{UNSC Ship Title|Atlas}}
The ''UNSC Atlas'' was a carrier in the [[UNSC]] fleet in 2525. On April of that year, the vessel went on patrol in the [[Lambda Serpentis System]]. Unbeknownst to most of the crew, the [[Spartans]] were aboard for this mission, to recover from their augmentations - and bury their dead - in the microgravity atmosphere.

'''UNSC ''Atlas''''' was an {{Class|Epoch|heavy carrier}}<ref name="CF100">[https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/news/sweet-centennial '''Halo Waypoint''' - ''Canon Fodder #100: Sweet Centennial'']</ref> in service with the [[United Nations Space Command|UNSC]] [[UNSC Navy|Navy]] prior to the beginning of the [[Human-Covenant War]] in [[2525]].
The ''Atlas'' had a detatchment of [[ODST]]s from the [[105th Orbital Drop Shock Trooper Division]]. One morning, in the ''Atlas'' gym, an apparent training exercise between John and four ODSTs left three of the ODSTs dead. Unbeknownst to John, or apparently [[ONI]] for that matter, the Lieutenant in command of those four ODSTs was [[Major Antonio Silva|Antonio Silva]], who would, as a Major, lead the ODST detatchment of the ''[[Pillar of Autumn|UNSC Pillar of Autumn]]''

It damaged the relationship and triggered off the intense rivalry between Spartans and the Helljumpers for nearly three decades.<ref>'''[[Halo: The Fall of Reach]]''', ''pages 67-68''</ref>

*''Atlas''<nowiki>'</nowiki> appearance changes between the comic and animated adaptations of ''The Fall of Reach''. The original design vaguely resembles the {{Class|Phoenix|colony ship}}. In contrast, the version seen in the animated series resembles the ''Epoch''-class heavy carrier, albeit with several elements rearranged (such as the thrusters being inverted) or absent (such as the bridge section). According to [[343 Industries]] writer [[Jeff Easterling]], the ship is canonically an ''Epoch''-class carrier, with her divergent appearances in visual media due to artistic license.{{Ref/Reuse|CF100}}
