The '''''Twilight Compunction''''' was a [[Covenant]] [[Covenant frigate|frigate]] assigned to the [[Second Fleet of Homogeneous Clarity]] at the end of the [[Age of Reclamation|Ninth Age of Reclamation]].

==History==
The '''Twilight Compunction''' was a [[Covenant]] Frigate, attached to the [[Second Fleet of Homogenous Clarity]] during the end of the [[Age of Reclamation|9th Age of Reclamation]]. After the [[Great Schism]], it fell under the control of the [[Brute]]s. Its [[Ship Master]] was the Brute [[Gargantum]]. <ref>''[[Halo: Ghosts of Onyx]]'', page 192</ref>
''Twilight Compunction'' fell under [[Jiralhanae]] authority following the beginning of the [[Great Schism]]. [[Chieftain]] [[Gargantum]] was her [[shipmaster]].<ref>'''Halo: Ghosts of Onyx''', ''page 192''</ref>

At the [[Battle of Installation 05]], Gargantum ordered his crew to attack the opposing [[Sangheili]] ships. ''Twilight Compunction'', along with ''[[Tenebrous]]'', attempted to destroy the Sangheili cruiser ''[[Incorruptible]]'' during this engagement. She was routed when her sister ship, ''Tenebrous'', was destroyed by the enemy cruiser. The Sangheili [[carrier]] ''[[Lawgiver]]'' later damaged the Jiralhanae frigate.<ref>'''Halo: Ghosts of Onyx''', ''page 194''</ref>
The ship was present during [[The Battle of Installation 05]] and when the [[Great Schism]] broke out, Gargantum ordered his ship to attack the [[Elite]] held ships. The ''Twilight Compunction'', along with the ''[[Tenebrous]]'', tried to attack the Elite held ''[[Incorruptible]]'', but the attack was stopped when the ''Tenebrous'' was destroyed by the ''Incorruptible'' and the ''Twilight Compunction'' was attacked and damaged by the Carrier ''[[Lawgiver]]''. <ref>''[[Halo: Ghosts of Onyx]]'', page 194</ref>

''Twilight Compunction'', supported by ''[[Revenant (ship)|Revenant]]'' by overlapping to shield each other to absorb plasma fire together, and another frigate, followed ''Incorruptible'' as she attempted to flee. When the destroyer ''[[Bloodied Spirit]]'' dropped out of [[slipspace]] nearby, Gargantum hailed the vessel and discovered it was controlled by human [[Spartan-IIs|Spartans]]. The shipmaster detached one frigate to intercept, but as his forces were divided, ''Revenant'' was destroyed by ''Incorruptible''.<ref>'''Halo: Ghosts of Onyx''', ''page 227''</ref> Gargantum proceeded with his two remaining ships to pursue ''Bloodied Spirit'' with the persistent Sangheili cruiser, ''Incorruptible'', following them.
Gargantum's ship, along with the ''[[Revenant]]'' and another frigate, followed the ''Incorruptible'' as it tried to escape. When the ship ''[[Bloodied Spirit]]'' dropped out of [[Slipspace]] nearby, Gargantum hailed it and discovered it was controlled by [[Spartan-IIs]]. He sent one frigate to attack it, but while his forces were divided, the ''Revenant'' was destroyed by the ''Incorruptible''.<ref>''[[Halo: Ghosts of Onyx]]'', page 227</ref> Gargantum then took his two remaining ships to pursue the ''Bloodied Spirit''.

''Twilight Compunction'' then travelled to [[Earth]], where it followed the rest of [[Prophet of Truth]]'s [[Truth's fleet|fleet]] through the [[Portal at Voi|Portal]] and [[Installation 00]]. It was destroyed during the battle by the Sangheili. On [[2557]], a records module from a [[Type-31 Seraph]] deployed by the ''Twilight Compunction'' was recovered by [[Fireteam Apollo]], giving them insight on some of the major Jiralhanae Chieftains and pack alphas, especially [[Hekabe]] and his recovering of a [[Forerunner]] artifact known as the ''[[vertex]]'' from ''[[High Charity]]''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s remains.<ref>'''[[Halo Legendary Crate]]''', ''[[Halo Legendary Crate/Data Drops|Data Drop #5]]''</ref>
