Editing Tower

The '''Tower''', also known as '''Chak 'Lok's Tower''', was a [[Banished]] facility built on one of the fragments of [[Installation 07]] during the [[Installation 07]] [[Battle for Zeta Halo|conflict]] between [[2559#December|December 2559]] and [[2560]].{{Ref/Site|Id=InsideFebruary|D=17|M=6|Y=2021|URL=https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/news/inside-infinite-february-2021|Site=Halo Waypoint|Page=Inside Infinite - February 2021}}{{Ref/Reuse|tower}}

The Tower has a main entrance and a side entrance. The Tower itself was composed of three floors of prisons, accessible via a gravity lift at the base of the structure. The top floor contains a large chamber with two [[Banished torture machine|torture devices]]. There is a security building at the base of the Tower, which can put the facility into lockdown. There is a landing pad at cliffside of the base.{{Ref/Reuse|tower}}

After the UNSC's defeat at Installation 07 circa [[2559#December|December 13, 2559]], the Banished forces led by [[War Chief]] [[Escharum]] occupied the installation. The Tower was one of the many Banished outposts deployed across the ring to maintain control.{{Ref/Reuse|InsideFebruary}} Escharum ordered his troops to hunt down and capture UNSC survivors.{{Ref/Game|HI|Audio log (Halo Infinite)#Outpost Intel 3|Banished Audio log|Detail=Outpost Intel #07 - That Which Remain}} The [[prisoner of war|prisoners of war]] were processed at [[Redoubt of Sundering]],{{Ref/Quest|HINF|Connections|Redoubt of Sundering|Quote=This must be where they processed prisoners before sending them to the Tower.|Quotee=The Weapon}} then taken to the Tower for torture and interrogation by its warden [[Chak 'Lok]]. Survivors were then brought to the [[House of Reckoning (location)|House of Reckoning]].{{Ref/Reuse|tower}} [[SPARTAN-IV program|Spartan-IV]] [[Hudson Griffin]] was brought to the Tower following his captured by the Banished after a failed assassination on Escharum.{{Ref/Reuse|tower}}{{Ref/Game|HI|Audio log (Halo Infinite)#Retaliation 2|Spartan Audio log|Detail=Retaliation #03 - Confrontation}} Combat Medic [[Lucas Browning]] was also taken to the Tower after the Banished forced him to release the [[Xalanyn]] known as "The [[Harbinger]]" from her [[cylix]].{{Ref/Game|HI|Audio log (Halo Infinite)#The Prisoner 2|UNSC Audio log|Detail=The Prisoner #04 - Easy to Break}} On May 18, 2560, Browning's friends Spartan [[Nina Kovan]], [[Erik Bender]] and [[Robin Dimik]] planned to attack the Tower and rescue him.{{Ref/Novel|RP|38}}

By May 28, 2560, Spartan Griffin was the only prisoner within the Tower,{{Ref/Level|HINF|Recovery|Quote=Master Chief and the Weapon chase the signal to the Tower, a well-defended fortress where the Banished have processed and interrogated scores of human prisoners — which now houses only one.}} with only a handful of [[UNSC Marine Corps|marines]] being held at the base of the Tower.{{Ref/Reuse|tower}} Having learned of [[John-117]]'s survival,{{Ref/Level|Id=wg|HI|Warship Gbraakon}} Escharum ordered Chak 'Lok to lure the Spartan to the Tower using Griffin's distress signal.{{Ref/Reuse|tower}} John-117 stormed the Tower, fought through the Banished troops defending the outpost, and reached the top floor, where he killed Chak 'Lok. Despite being freed from his torture device, Griffin succumbed to his wounds, but told John-117 of the Banished's search for a Forerunner facility known as the [[Conservatory (location)|Conservatory]].{{Ref/Reuse|tower}} The facility was put out of use following Chak 'Lok's death.{{Ref/Level|HI|The Tower|Quote=This well-fortified stronghold was once a central processing and interrogation site for UNSC prisoners captured by the Banished throughout the Ring.
