'''This is the Hour''' is the tenth track (Disc 1 Track 10) included in ''[[Halo 3: Original Soundtrack]]'', and plays during the ending cutscene of the ''[[Halo 3]]'' [[campaign]] level ''[[The Storm]]''.
'''This is the Hour''' is a song included in the [[Halo 3: Original Soundtrack]]. It is one of the most recognizable themes in the entire game. A variation of this song is heard in the Halo 3 E3 video. It is a almost exact copy of the song [[Finish the Fight]].
 
The song plays during the ending cutscene of [[The Storm]].
 
The very beginning is mainly choir, followed by the well-known piano motif. This is then repeated by the entire orchestra. The song swells to a dramatic climax, then abruptly stops and lets ambient strings take over till the end.


Just as the ending cutscene heavily resembles the [[Halo 3 announcement trailer|''Halo 3'' announcement trailer]], ''This is the Hour'' is nearly identical to the track ''[[Finish the Fight]]'', the music played in the trailer. The piece begins with a soft drumroll, followed by strings and choir building up the melody to a piano solo of the five-note E Dorian melody from ''Finish the Fight''. This is then repeated by the entire orchestra. Percussion enters, and the strings swells to a dramatic climax with the ''[[Halo Theme]]'' triplet rhythm. The melody reaches with high strings, but stops with a single high strings note. Ambient strings then take over till the end.
