We know that at least some Covenant made it off the first Halo, when the Supreme Commander ordered it abandoned. How many? How soon did they start evacuating? Could Yayap have hitched a ride with them in the time he had? We don't know. I doubt it, though. When we see him heading off, he has a sense of resignation, of accepting death. Am I the only one who thinks it is at all possible that maybe Yayap is a common name? Maybe it's the Grunt equivalent of Bob or Jim.  I don't think that the article should say that Yayap is Bapap's cousin for this reason.
