| There must have been some planet somewhere, where they manufactured all of this in secret. Reach was obviously their biggest building ground, but it's also their most known. Like the Oort cloud surrounding the Sol system where the Infinity was made, there's got to be some secret place where the UNSC built all their stuff. At least we now know why they didn't even have a flag ship defending Earth, and still, I think Earth was horribly under defended. | | There must have been some planet somewhere, where they manufactured all of this in secret. | :75 ships was merely the number of ships under the command of FADM Harper that was with the Cairo-Athens-Malta battle-cluster. You forget about the unit formerly referred to as "Battlegroup Stalingrad" and there were surely many more ships that were not seen at the beginning of Halo 2 but were likely destroyed over the course of the battle given the "smashed" status of the Home Fleet as said early on in Halo 3. -Karl-591 02:57, 13 November 2012 (EST)

| ::But there's 100 battle clusters. You're not saying they had a fleet assigned to each cluster are you? That's like 7,500 ships! That doesn't even account for the rest of the UNSC fleet that would be called back to Earth. -DustinNugget 4:34, 13 November 2012 (EST)

| :::All I am saying is that your original claim of 75 ships is incorrect. I haven't seen any definitive number for the strength of the Home Fleet in October 2552, but it is certainly more than 75 total warships. -Karl-591 09:01, 13 November 2012 (EST)

| ::If you want to get technical, we can say that each MAC station within view had a Stalwart-class frigate docked with it, so that could increase fleet numbers if a frigate was on hand to guard each MAC station. That would be 300 either including or not the 67 shown on the tactical screen. This idea has some basis....the Cairo and In Amber Clad share their registry numbers, ODA-142 and FFG-142. Coincidence? Perhaps. If they are linked and In Amber Clad is assigned to Cairo, it would explain why everyone grouped there. Admiral Hood is normally stationed in Australia on Earth (HIGHCOM), but was visiting Cairo Station why? Perhaps because a posthumous medal was to be given to the recipient's daughter, who was going to be on Cairo as opposed to any other MAC station, so the Chief, Johnson, and Hood gathered there. There's nothing inherently significant about Cairo than any other MAC station except for Miranda Keyes' presence. | ==Aegis Fate==
| |
| I see an edit recently occurred tagging Aegis Fate to the Home Fleet. While it was likely part of the Epsilon Eridani Fleet during the fall of Reach time (radio chatter in the Reach campaign), its hull markings imply it was part of the 7th Fleet just like Forward Unto Dawn as of Halo 3's time frame. Not sure this is being accounted for. I don't see a reference to Seventh Fleet on the page even in relation to the Dawn. -ScaleMaster117 (talk) 16:32, 5 March 2018 (EST)

| All Fleet are in fact are recalled and consolidated into a single fleet, UNSC Home Fleet prior to Fall of Reach and OPERATION: FIRST STRIKE. That also include UNSC Gettysburg and other UNSC Ship from other fleets and Battle Group as well that manage to survive the Covenant Campaign and reach Earth safely. Currently all Fleet and Battle Group on Human-Covenant War are officially disbanded after consolidated into UNSC Home Fleet for final stand except those who already part or subordinate of UNSC Home Fleet.
