I'm confused on information. I was previously under the impression that the Reach Campaign starts before the actual attack on Reach, and displays some of the events leading up to it. I thought that the huge explosion at the end of the VGA Awards trailer was just for dramatic effect. Thom didn't die on Reach, a replacement wouldn't have been sent then. However the VGA Awards trailer seemed to show that the replacement was during the battle. In the Urban Holland Noble Team report thing for Kat/Carter when he mentions Thom, doe she not state he was ambushed? I am assuming this means jumped by enemy ground/air support rather than dieing in an explosion. How do we reconcile the two explanaitions of his death? Not denying any of the evidence for Deliver Hope, i completely agree with it; just playing devils advocate, could it be a Noble 6 Thom replaced [if such a thing happened]?

==Noble 6/Thom==
Does anyone else think that Bungie wanted Thom to look exactly like how Noble 6 has been shown in all the material so far (default armour/black) to try to get the idea of Noble 6 looking like anything away from people? I know they did all default/black to stop people creating a specific image of 6, but that still creates one too, and to me it seems this counters that pretty well, any thoughts? :I believe Bungie showed Noble Six. Not the Reach one, the original. They did that for advertisements. Umm, yeah, the original Noble 6: Thom, that's what I said. Like I was trying to say, my theory is that Bungie has Thom in Deliver Hope wear default armour (more or less) in black to look just like how they've shown the new Noble 6, to get rid of people's image of the new Noble 6 being all default/black, because he had to look like something in the previews and trailers, so whatever they picked is what people would think of Noble 6 as, because people can't help doing that. So now they're trying to make us think of Thom when we see that armour and colour, so we're less likely to think of the new Noble 6 this way, and it'll be easier to make 6 into whoever we want her/him to be. ==Spartan-III?==
I was wondering if it was ever stated that Thom was specifically a Spartan-III? The Spartan tags on Bungie.net were ambiguous (S-052, S-259, S-320...). While more information was revealed for the most significant Spartans (namely those featured in the game), Thom's origin remains a mystery. For all we know, he could have been a Spartan-II (his tag is still lower than Ralph's one, well Ralph is hardly a good comparison but there's still an undisclosed reason for the existence of such high tags...), or maybe even a Spartan-II from class 2, like Nicole. And it's the same for Rosenda, whose tag may be accurate for a class 2 Spartan-II. Having both Spartan-IIs and IIIs in Noble Team doesn't seem problematic, first there's Jorge, and second, on Bungie.net it's said that the new Noble Six could have been a Spartan-II but they were all unavailable. It's usually accepted as a fact that Jorge is the only Spartan-II in the team, but that's mainly from the game's perspective, I think. I may have missed something in which it's specifically said that both Thom and Rosenda were Spartan-IIIs, so if you have anything about that, add it as a source in the article. If not, maybe there should be a conjecture template or something like that. Edit: I forgot to mention that I don't have the revised edition of the Encyclopedia and the Reach strategy guide, so maybe you could check them to see if it's mentioned. :Well, the concept art for Thom looks younger than Jorge's and fits in nicely with the rest of the Spartan-IIIs, so it is unlikely that he's a Spartan graduate of 2525. Bungie does not consider I Love Bees as canon (unlike 343i), so he is unlikely a Spartan graduate of 2536. According to the development sheet for Jorge shown in PAX 2010, Jorge is the only member in the team stated to be "older than the rest of the team and remembers earlier battles and stories of his former life as a Spartan-II." "Older" in this context would carry the meaning of being decades apart from the rest of the members I would say. Occam's Razor. The simplest explanation for his tag is that he's a Spartan-III on a primarily Spartan-III team, as opposed to a Spartan-II with an unexplained higher tag or from a rather obscure second class.
