There is another terminal, an 11th terminal. On the console waypoint, on the navigation menu, press X then you'll be prompted a code menu. Input the symbols at the end of the terminals. They seem to correspond to specific log entries, categorized chronologically, with 343GS assigning each subsequent event to the Log Entry that corresponds with a certain set of criteria, starting with the moment when "343 Guilty Spark" was split off Chakas' original Ancilla matrix to become a Monitor for one of the Installations in the Array. Terminal 2 seems to indicate that he'd been operating in this capacity for about 3 years prior to being assigned to Installation 04. Based upon this criteria, Terminals 1,4 and 9 may be listed under the same Log Entry because Spark had determined that they share certain identical characteristics. Perhaps this Entry corresponds to events associated with "Sentient Proximity Warning" situations, or (queue conspiracy music) perhaps Spark found sufficient similarities between the crashed vessel & the Pillar of Autumn to group them together under the same log entry (Maybe they were both Human-made & Spark assumed that whoever accessed the Terminals would know that...Or maybe it's just because they both contained the same atmosphere & crashed into the Halo)  Terminal 3's Log Entry might denote his first contact with the Covenant, via the T&R's "Dumb" AI, which would explain why it was similar to the Log Entries for Terminals 10 and 11. Terminals 5 and 6 seem to relate to the alien vessel, post-impact. Terminal 7 is a little weird, probably because Spark was beginning to go Rampant during that Log Entry. ::So, based on that, it doesn't necessarily mean this "best Easter Egg" isn't related to the Terminals but, rather, that it isn't BETTER than an extra terminal... Just different. I think that the Numbers may hold the key to this Easter Egg... I admittedly made light of it over on the Halo CEA Terminals talk page, but the more I think about it, the more I believe that it is highly significant that 343GS logged his encounters with the Pillar of Autumn and Jacob Keyes (Terminals 1 and 9) under the exact same log entry # as his first contact with the crashed vessel(Terminal 4). 

::The only other time that the Numbers match up exactly are on Terminals 5 and 6, and that's because those terminals deal with a single subject: Quarantining the crashed vessel.

::Each set of numbers could be viewed as a timestamp for a new log entry, prompted by a certain event (ship crashing, assignment to Installation 04, test firing of the array, destruction of his ring, early stages of rampancy, etc)  and any subsequent updates to that particular log entry would logically be filed under that same set of numbers.

::So why, then, did Sparky treat his encounter with the Pillar of Autumn & Jacob Keyes as an update to a log entry that originated some 55,000 years earlier?

==So, now what...?==
I've watched all terminals and input all codes, before most people even figured it out, I might add. But, now what? What have we learned really? I know that it explains a lot of backstory into Halo CE/Anniversary and a bit about Halo 2, but what about Halo 4? What have we learned about Halo 4? These terminals were said to explain a little about it, but there doesn't appear to be much significant connection between the terminals and Halo 4.

I did notice one thing though, and that is that if the Prometheans should return, that the UNSC would almost prefer the Flood. It's not too significant, but it was something that jumped out at me, whatever 343GS meant by it. TheGutsyChipmunk 02:04, 29 November 2011 (EST)

:My take on the Terminals was that, a.) there is an alien intelligence that knows about the Halo's, and that we didn't see them in Anniversary because they're going to appear in Halo 4; b.) it's setting the stage for more Didact/Librarian characterisation in the Greg Bear novels, and drumming up deserved interest for the Forerunner Saga; and c.) that it's insinuating that the Didact at least is still alive, and that he might not take too kindly to human vandalism. There were like, what? Three seperate terminals all about this mysterious ship that crashed on the Halo in a time period where Humans were still fighting eachother with stone tools. They had an additional 40,000 years to grow in power and technology since then. They seem like they'd be a powerful enemy, as well as "ancient". This does indeed support what few teases we've gotten of Halo 4.

On a side note, I belive the "Didact's plan" Spark refers to in Terminal 8 will be seen in one of the new books. For all we know, The Didact tried his plan at the last second and Spark didn't know about it because he was on the Halo. It may even be a plot point in Halo 4, since the Forerunner fleet made its last stand in the area that the Chief is drifting, but I doubt it. Anyways, this is an indirect connection to Halo 4 in that way because the books themselves have connections.
