It sounds to me like what is being reffered to in this article is a Pulse laser turret as they are said to have ''insect like antena''. | |||

Before the weapon fires it first has to charge, When the weapon charges, a ball of super heated plasma formes in front of the turrent, then after about 3 seconds it fires outward at its target.
