It could be a super light alloy because the covenant have a whole arsenel of unknown alloy so you never know--[[User:The Chazz025|The Chazz025]] and [[User:Irving/Taliban Command (Tango Company)|Clan]] [[User:irving/Razu'Kuzumee|<sup>[Razu'Kuzumee]</sup>]] 04:05, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Tungsten is actually a very heavy alloy, and the weapon itself is described as being so heavy it can only really be wielded by someone with prodigous strength, i.e. a Spartan or a Brute. (Note Bungie's commentary on it)
