It's impossible to reach the other side of the hotel with grenades, I think. I've tried it. I ran out of grenades... I don't know. You can, however, do a LOT and go LOTS of interesting places. It's impossible with or without grenades. I've gone pretty much everywhere, gotten lost, gone on top of one of those weird tower things sticking out on top of Hotel Zanzibar, all kinds of stuff, and the roof of hotel Zanzibar just has an invisible boundary at the back, so you can't cross the line that loads the next part of the level. It's just impossible without going through the Hotel.
