| I figured out what the protruding red bump on the rear end of the slide is! I was reading a book of firearms by David Miller, and I came across an M1911 prototype with a Tansley loaded weapon indicator. When a round is chambered, a small red dot protrudes from the rear. This simple bump is a means of determining whether or not the gun is live!
