Should be edited; the weapon can't be from the post-war era. Although 343 said a third-party studio created the trailer and 343 gave them full rein with the design (meaning some of the weapons and things seen might not be in the final game). If it is, the weapon was probably manufactured during the war because Chief and Cortana haven't been in contact with any other UNSC forces since the war, and therefore the weapon must have been in storage on-board the ship the whole time. --Curbsideprophet 15:48, 26 June 2011 (EDT)
To me it looks like it fires remotely detonated charges (reminiscent of the weapon in Goldeneye: Rogue Agent, for those of you who know). That's just my take on what I saw. It would also kind of fit into the gameplay balance if there were such a weapon. It doesn't seem like an ordinary grenade launcher.--<span style="color:black; font-family:Verdana">Fluffy</span><span style="color:gray; font-family:Verdana">Emo</span><span style="color:black; font-family:Verdana">Penguin</span><small>(<span style="color:gray">ice quack!</span>)</small> 14:52, 7 June 2011 (EDT)

:This may be true, however, the only known appearance of it is in the post-war era, so that is its era until it is confirmed otherwise. To me it seems a tad bit like the magnum from Resistance 2, although with a lot more punch. Or the mini grenade launcher from Killzone on ps2. Mcz117chief 08:58, 8 June 2011 (EDT)

Yeah, but Chief is gonna be using up-to-date UNSC weaponry by all indications. It's possible Cortana intercepted transmissions containing the designs for the new weapons, and built them/overhauled existing weapons onboard the Forward Unto Dawn. --Delta1138 SnooPING AS usual I see 16:27, 24 May 2012 (EDT)

I'd change the tittle but I wouldn't know how to source it. Jac0bBau3r1995 13:43, 4 June 2012 (EDT)
