| :Since it is noted in the article that the alliance undertook purely military endeavours during its time, backed up from what we read in ''Ghosts of Onyx'', perhaps we should instead go with something akin to '''''<nowiki>Xytan 'Jar Wattinree's fleet</nowiki>'''''. Per Wikipedia, it is acceptable in orders of battle for units to be named after its first or current commanding officer, and the unit role and organization. Admiral Wattinree's actions during the Great Schism indicated little else than consolidating the many, wayward, poorly organized fleets liberated by the Sangheili under a single, effective military command. Otherwise, we know nothing about his political or religious policies in-concert with military operations. {{User:Helianthus/Sig}}

| ::That works too. While he indicates he wanted to build a "new Covenant", his plan never got that far. --[[User:Jugus|Jugus]] ([[User talk:Jugus|Talk]] | [[Special:Contributions/Jugus|Contribs]]) 00:29, 12 December 2014 (EST)

| ::::Merge with [[Combined Fleet of Righteous Purpose]] then? Otherwise both articles would be about the same thing. If yes, that sounds a good idea; better than "making up" a whole article just for the faction.[[User:Imrane-117|Imrane-117]] ([[User talk:Imrane-117|talk]]) 18:30, 12 December 2014 (EST)

| :::::That's probably for the best, though it did occur to me that there may have been more fleets or other forces that sided with Xytan and again, he clearly had a larger goal in mind. But since the articles' content overlap almost completely and Xytan's Covenant was so short-lived, the Combined Fleet of Righteous Purpose page might as well act as an article for the whole group. As long as there's a distinction between them and Thel's faction. --[[User:Jugus|Jugus]] ([[User talk:Jugus|Talk]] | [[Special:Contributions/Jugus|Contribs]]) 05:12, 15 December 2014 (EST)

| I too believe this article should be merged with the fleet. --[[User:The Master Builder|The Master Builder]] ([[User talk:The Master Builder|talk]]) 08:23, 29 August 2016 (EDT)

| If I recall correct, this faction abandoned the Covenant religion. I could be wrong though.[[User:Editorguy|Editorguy]] ([[User talk:Editorguy|talk]]) 05:22, 30 September 2016 (EDT)

| :Their religious beliefs are never detailed, but they seemed to still worship the Forerunners as gods. Even so, I don't think following the Covenant religion to the letter should be the sole criterion for what constitutes a "Covenant"; Xytan identifies his faction as such ("a new Covenant among the stars"), which should be enough. --[[User:Jugus|Jugus]] ([[User talk:Jugus|talk]]) 08:54, 2 October 2016 (EDT)
