Is he wearing Mark IV or V? If you look at the baseline armor (not the collar/helmet/kneepads, those ARE mark IV for sure), it looks different from the armor worn by the rest of Noble - at least I think so, I may be seeing things. The Spartan-III's are sent on missions that even Spartan-II's would deem suicidal - the fact that these S-III's have survived against such odds makes them unique. A smaller team wuld have taken longer to infiltrate and set the charges - that would have been time the Covenant could have used to find and stop them. Likewise, they were eventually overwhelmed by superior numbers - would a smaller team have really stood that much more of a chance? I agree that sending the Spartans on suicide missions is stupid, but it's also effective - that shipyard could have been churning out dozens of new ships to field against the UNSC every years. Carter has more Command Experience than Jorge. In a cage fight though I'm gonna have to go with Jorge. Like what's said above, he was picked genetically and all that crap. And replying to the guy five paragraphs above me; you said that PROMETHEUS would have been considered Suicidal for even SPARTAN-IIs. Maybe you're right, but the SPARTAN-IIs would have DEFINITELY taken out more Covenant. I'm talking even if they BOTH had Semi-Powered Infiltration Armor, they would have gotten a higher kill count at LEAST (I mean they would have gotten a higher kill count BEFORE the place exploded, because after that thing exploded, the casualty number would be the same regardless). And the same, if not more people would have survived the explosion.  And don't forget on Onyx when Kelly-087 beat the crap out of Holly-G003.
*And about their armor. If ONI thought that the SPARTAN-IIIs were as good as the SPARTAN-IIs then they would have given the SPARTAN-IIIs MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor. Or, they would have given the SPARTAN-IIs Semi-Powered Infiltration Armor. Another thing about their armor. It just isn't as good as the SPARTAN-IIs'. It has Energy Shields, and only the Headhunters and Noble Team have shields, and even the headhunters' have to share their shield energy with something else.  If I remember correctly, the Semi-Powered Infiltration Armor doesn't make the user stronger or faster in any way, probably explaining why Kelly-087 beat Holly-G003 up so easily.  The  Semi-Powered Infiltration Armor is made of weaker things than even the MJOLNIR Mark IV and is less durable. And it's missing the MOST IMPORTANT thing; the ability to carry a Starship Grade Artificial Intelligence.
*But all in all, in a cage match, no armor, the winner would probably be a SPARTAN-II (although I think there is a good chance that the SPARTAN-III might). But that doesn't mean that she (purposefully didn't put 'he' there, just because it could be any gender) would be walking walking out of the cage happily and jolly. 1st off, there wouldn't be a 'cage' left! The steel bars would have been broken and used as weapons in some point in the battle. And, she would be pretty messed up. Broken bones, bleeding, DEFINITELY unconscious, and more. Face it, if you would put a SPARTAN-II and and a SPARTAN-III who were ''similar'' to each other in a cage match the SPARTAN-II would have a slightly better chance of winning.  But the reason why I but the word ''similar'' is because of this.  Every SPARTAN is unique, they are all as unique as SPARTAN-B312 and John-117. They all have their own unique ups and downs. So if you put two SPARTANs in that were different, you would have a COMPLETELY different battle than with similar ones.

The SPARTAN-II would win 58 percent of the time (no less than 55, no more than 68) and the SPARTAN-III would win 42 percent of the time. BUT, what that means is that 2 in every 5 times the SPARTAN-III would win. So it is most likely that a SPARTAN-II would be victorious (although that wouldn't be how he/she would feel, read all the injuries I wrote above, then add your own injuries to that list (not really, DON'T EDIT MY POST). But that's a pretty big number, so it is VERY likely that a SPARTAN-III would win (but if they did, they would might die soon after from injuries but most likely just have the injuries I wrote above).

All this S-II v S-III stuff? Irrelevant. Physically, they are identical - Spartan-III's aren't as genetically ideal as their predecessors, but the augmentation and training regimen more than makes up for it. They use an S-II to train them, using his experience from his own training and his combat service, and use improved augmentations to bring them up to par. The S-III's weren't given MJOLNIR simply because of the expense and difficulty of creating each suit - fitting roughly thirty Spartans with MJOLNIR cost the same as building a Naval battlegroup. Three hundred? Six hundred? Nine hundred suits of MJOLNIR? Probably beyond the UNSC's means. In a fight between an S-II and S-III, all things being equal, with or without MJOLNIR the fight would be pretty even, except for age and experience as factors.
I'm getting really tired of people bitching that S-III's are cheap knockoffs. Yes, they were wasted. Yes, they died, when the S-II's had a better track record. But soldiers die, and victories have their cost. The other day I was reading Jorge's page and I thought there were some things worth mentioning in his trivia wich weren't there. Firstly, Jorge is the first SPARTAN to die in-game, or the first one witnessed. Secondly he has a unique visor color, I haven't seen it before and players can not use it. Jorge is also the tallest member of noble, standing 233 cm, wich I think makes him about as tall as Samuel is ( or at least i think, Sam is described as 'a head taller' than John, Jorge is a head taller than the rest of noble team). Last but not least I think it is worth mentioning Jorge is the member of the team you work the most with in campaign, he shares this with Kat. Is there any really, ''really'' small chance that Jorge could have survived the Slipspace bomb?  It was a one-way jump, with no destination, yes, but the portal generated by the Slipspace Drive fit the width of the Supercarrier.  The Corvette Jorge was in surely would've been swallowed whole, and therefore would have suffered damage only by collision with the Supercarrier.  If a preservation chamber or something of the like was present onboard that Corvette, akin to a cryo pod, Jorge could've been indefinitely put to sleep stranded, similar to John, except in Slipspace.  Now, I don't know if there is any traffic in Slipspace, and whether or not you can encounter anything else in the Slipspace dimension, but if that is the case, Jorge could be recovered at some point.  And if not, maybe Jorge or any remaining Covenant on the Corvette could use whatever Slipspace machinery was on the Corvette to escape from it (remember that Covenant Slipspace tech is unlike anything created by man, as Cortana pointed out).  I understand that if any of these things were possible, there would be an extreme low chance of occurence.  I also understand that Jorge isn't known to have the luck that John does.  But I was just wondering if there was maybe just the slightest possibility of him being potentially able to return to the universe. ::I do think, story-telling wise, there's a difference between being designated KIA and being ''confirmed'' KIA. For all intents and purposes, we don't know what happened to Jorge, and can only assume, sans a later appearance, that he was killed by the slipspace rupture. It's ''remotely'' possible that he survived on the Corvette if it wasn't destroyed by the chunk of Supercarrier it took with it, and if he wasn't swarmed by what was left of the Corvette's crew, but then that still leaves him stranded in slipspace. So while he's officially designated KIA, I think it's fairer to say he genuinely is KIA, in the same sense as James, in that there's currently no conceivable way for him to have survived. So the official visual guide calls his armor the Mark IV but literally every other piece of media calls it the Mark V and it has shields like the Mark V.  Are we going with the obvious error from that single source and retconning things officially or are we going with the other sources that say he's got Mark V and not opening the can of worms on how he has a Mark IV model with shields?

:Yes I know his helmet is Mk IV, I was more asking because the equipment section erroneously listed his ''entire suit'' as Mk IV, justified based on one page of the "official visual guide".  It seems like we need to clarify that better because otherwise it could result in an edit war; is the official word yay or nay on disregarding that one source because it conflicts with all the others?
