Shouldn't this guy be Navy? 1-1 Marines | Shouldn't this guy be Navy? 1-1 Marines | ||
:The Navy doesn't have a Major rank. The equivalent rank is Lieutenant Commander. He is therefore a Marine or Army officer attached to Naval Intelligence - more likely to be a Marine, given the historical closeness between the two branches, but Army ONI officers aren't impossible. -- Qura 'Morhek The Autocrat of Morheka 16:37, 16 December 2012 (EST) | :The Navy doesn't have a Major rank. ::If he is a Major, then he's Army like Ackerson. Marines aren't trained in high-end biology; I doubt they get assigned scientist jobs in the future. :::Well, ummm....the Marine Corps has Majors too and seeing as ONI is a component of the UNSC Naval Service, they're far more likely to be serving in their ranks. COL James Ackerson was a special case, a liason of sorts between the Army and Naval Intelligence. There wouldn't be too many of these sorts of guys around. Anyhoo, nothing states that Marines hundreds of years in the future can't be versed in anything other than ground/air combat or logistics. | :::Well, ummm....the Marine Corps has Majors too and seeing as ONI is a component of the UNSC Naval Service, they're far more likely to be serving in their ranks. ::::Lemme see, there's Benti. Even though Lopez repeatedly calls her "Private", she's a Corpsman-they just forgot that the lowest rank a Corpsman can have is Corpsman Recruit, not Private. If the Marines are still relying on the navy for Corpsmen, odds are they don't have any scientists. | ::::Lemme see, there's Benti. :::::Simple oversight. Note, 343 has shown little to no grasp of basic modern military history, culture, customs, or organization. It is common knowledge to anyone who indeed knows about the U.S. Naval Service that the Navy provides field medical, dental, adminitration and other personnel to Fleet Marine Forces. Until noted otherwise, all officers and enlistedmen using traditionally "ground force" ranks whilst in the Fleet are presumed to be Marines. Anyhoo, please register an account on Halopedia as you use quite a few different IP addresses and well, that Tex username isn't in use. | :::::Simple oversight.
