Name change[edit]

Suggest turning this into a general article on Halo lifeforms as opposed to "dinosaurs." --Dragonclaws 08:04, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

How about "Native Species"? Gzalzi 01:39, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Agreed. Something like "Indigenou Halo creatures" or something politically correct. hah. -ED 18:30, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Halo Graphic Novel animals[edit]

Metal McFire 18:01, 5 February 2007 (UTC)I noticed that the ship that most of the story takes place on in the frist story of the halo graphic novel has a room filled with an ass-load of animals and the like. Its hard to miss since the flood start taking over them. Anyways, that would seem to support the idea that the Covies brought the bird things in Halo2

I would think that they would have kept them on their ships instead of letting them roam free throughout the Halo. I tend to support the idea that Halo had animals of its own, they were described in the books as well. -ED 18:30, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Halo wildlife[edit]

We already know the halos have native wildlife because there are many scenes where you can hear birds chirping. Yet, we never actually see the birds.

Actually, you can see the birds. On Last Resort, for example.Bllasae 02:18, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

What the "dinsosaurs" and flying creatures are is anybody's guess. I would speculate the flying creatures are native to Halo and Forerunner planets, but may have been brought back to High Charity as specimens or decoration, in the same way the cherry blossom trees in Washington DC are actually decorative gifts from Japan.

But in the opening cutscene they already have birds in High Charity, and that's a bit before they found Installation 05. Unless they were on 04 too, and that's when they got them, and Bungie just didn't put them in, even though they were there. But it's all speculation, so we never really know, unless Bungie makes a statement or puts it in a book or something... guesty-persony-thingy File:GPersonyThingy.jpeg|19px]] 06:25, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

We could assume that they are from the same sites as the huragok and may breed the same way. =P 23:43, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Huragok do not breed, they "create" their sons/daughters and name them according to their weight, such as Lighter than Some.Bllasae

You do know that is from the Halo: Combat Evolved demo, right? It's not a new game coming out. -- CoH|Councillor]] Specops306 - Kora 'Morhek 03:07, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Hey, in one section it mentions sea monsters in early versions of Halo. Where can I find that? Some reference would be nice.75.100.79.240 07:17, December 21, 2009 (UTC)

So many unidentified things[edit]

While plants are less important, I wish we could get names for a lot of the creatures we have seen throughout the games that have placeholder names like the "sea worms" and "moths" and while they are also not important whatsoever I wish they had official designations to be called. We also have numerous species of what appear to be fireflies such as blue ones seen on requirem and purple ones seen on erebus VII along with those tendril like trees and unidentified birds.
