All the official sources, like Halo Waypoint, refer to this game as Halo Xbox One instead of Halo 5. Has anyone confirmed that it's called Halo 5? <font style="papyrus"><font color="lime">Bioniclepluslotr</font></font> 18:32, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
== | :I can't reasonably seeing them calling the game anything else, but you're right. At no point has 343 ever used the title "Halo 5". :::::Even if I strongly think that this game is Halo 5, there is still no official information as it being called Halo 5 or being the second installment in the Reclaimer Trilogy, etc. But instead of immediately moving the page, maybe we should just wait for the next Bulletin or a press release from Halo Waypoint (something more than just the trailer). I'm pretty sure that 343 will confirm or deny it. Well, either that, or they don't know how to properly name a game / announce it. If this week's Bulletin doesn't clearly state that the game is Halo 5, then change it to Halo Xbox One or whatever. Or we may as well do it today, but it will possibly be changed again. Edit: Well it seems that even the Waypoint forum is called "Halo Xbox One"... This really doesn't make any sense to me. If it were Halo 5, why wouldn't they call it such? And if it were a spin-off set between H4 and H5, then why wouldn't they use a subtitle...Imrane-117 (talk) 20:01, 10 June 2013 (EDT)

::::::Just my two cents - here it says "The award-winning franchise continues on Xbox One, beginning in 2014. Final title to be announced at a later date." That may mean the title "Halo Xbox One" (and perhaps Halo 5) are just temporary/working titles, and aren't permanent. So just a heads up before moving the page to "Halo Xbox One", which IMO wouldn't make sense as a video game title especially for the Halo series.--<span style="color:Black; font-family: Arial;">Killamint</span> <small>[<font color="Red">Comm</font>|<font color="Black">Files</font>]</small> 20:43, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
:::::::Well, since we know "Halo: Xbox One" is not going to be the actual title, I think "Halo 5" is our best option, unless we really want to change it to "Unnamed Halo game (2014)". Alex T Snow (talk) 21:34, 10 June 2013 (EDT)
Nobody's saying "Halo Xbox One" is going to be the final title. Odds are we'll move the page then move it right back when it's officially announced as Halo 5. But we don't get to call it Halo 5 until either 343 Industries or Microsoft call it that. That being said, what do we think sounds more appropriate for a title: "Halo Xbox One" or "Halo (Xbox One)"?--<span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:13pt;color:blue;"> Rusty</span><span style="font-size:13pt;color:red;">-</span><span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:13pt;color:blue;">112</span> <span style="color:red; font-family:Arial">Admin</span> <font color="blue">comm</font> 21:53, 10 June 2013 (EDT)

Whatever name we make up for this article will be just that, a made up name. Whether it's "Halo (Xbox One)" or Halo 5 we're still just making it up. I personally feel that Halo 5 is much more descriptive, as it implies a mainline game, as opposed to a spin-off like Spartan Assault. If you're going to say we can't call it Halo 5 until 343 calls it that, we can't really call it anything else either. Whatever we call it will be our own invention. --Weeping Angel (talk) 22:47, 10 June 2013 (EDT)

Look, we can't just ignore our own policy when it suits us. The game has not yet been called Halo 5 by any official source so until it is, we should not label the page as Halo 5. Rather, we should use an official name. The way I see it, we either go by the trailer and do as Bioniclepluslotr said, calling it Halo (2014), or we go by 343 and MS and call it Halo Xbox One. Personally I'd go with the trailer as the term "Halo Xbox One" is likely to differentiate this title from Halo Combat Evolved.--Soul reaper (talk) 09:44, 11 June 2013 (EDT)
I agree. If they aren't calling it Halo 5, then we shouldn't be either. The page should be appropriately renamed to Halo Xbox One as that's the name they are currently using. It's weird, but I agree that we should follow what the developers seem to indicate is the best possible designation and avoid wiki speculation. == RE: Cortana's data chip ==
Everyone is talking about the chip that chief has in the new halo teaser. This is NOT cortana's but probably a blank chip that he got from the UNSC. The reason is that near the end of halo 4 her chip was destroyed. We have all seen in halo 2 and 3 that cortana can survive without her chip. Much like a flash drive you can put info on one, tranfer it to a computer, and then destroy the flash drive and still have the data. What I am saying is that there still might be a fragment of cortana still out there (dont ask where) and chief is trying to find it to maybe restore her. This is just wishful thinking but if that is the case after all chief would not have the chip but for that reason. more and more are we beginning to see how chief is more human than giant killing robot. I think that he is broken at his core until he finds cortana. All this i have gotten from halo5follower on youtube.---Zman3034
:That's a good point, the chip was still in the terminal, so its either a new one or just representative. Yeah, Cortana's obviously not gone; there's Halsey's recording talked about how the seven year life span may not (meaning does not, this is fiction) apply, the Librarian's seed that was planted in humanity eventually leading to three things: Chief, Mjolnir, and Cortana (Halsey echoes this), Didact calling her an evolved, Cortana explaining that the Knight disintegration is actually a data purge (not deleted, but sending the data somewhere else, as she tracks it after), that the Knights fought in Spartan Ops are from New Phoenix, meaning those personalities were transferred off Mantle's Approach before it was destroyed, possibly via the slipspace portal (thus so could Cortana), Chief not allowing anything to come between him and Cortana (like Del Rio) and being seemingly on the run or hiding in the trailer, while Halsey is on the run and all she actually cares about anymore is her Spartans, with ONI, who's after her, being setup as a shades-of-grey antagonist, and 343 can pull of the reveal without ever giving it away since they need Jen Taylor to voice Halsey anyway. I'm sorry, this went a tad off-topic :/ Alex T Snow (talk) 15:58, 4 February 2014 (EST)
:I thought the intent was more metaphorical, or representative? 343i have already said it's technically not a trailer for Halo 5, so my assumption was that John isn't literally there - that the wasteland is his loneliness now that she's gone, that when he looks at the chip which shouldn't still exist it's him reminiscing, and that the Forerunner machine that rises represents a threat looming on the horizon that he somehow knows about. -- <b><font color=indigo>Qura 'Morhek</font></b> <u><i><font color=blue>The Autocrat</font></i></u> <u><i><font color=purple>of Morheka</font></i></u> 22:34, 4 February 2014 (EST)
