As much as I know you're all going to talk about "artistic licensing" and "graphical improvements" and whatnot, I'm still fairly certain that this helmet article should only designate the helmet that its canonically shown to represent: the Halo 2 version of the marine helmet. Whether liked or not, there IS a difference between Halo 1, 2, and 3 styles of marine armor. And as there is absolutely NO canonical source that tells us they're the same or different, we should not make assumptions and should instead go with the safe bet: keeping the articles separate. This is the kind of article that makes me wish for a reform on armor articles here on halopedia. The crates shown to carry CH252 helmets clearly depict Halo 2-era helmets. If a crate showed H3 helmets, it would be of a different designation anyways. Take off the H3 pics and info. There are perfectly good explanations why marines could be wearing different armor in the same time period (different divisions with different equipment is perfectly common in modern infantry operations) but NO reason for them being actually the same unless it was an act of developer oversight. We as Halopedia keep canon sacred, not blend and merge thanks to our own personal values.--Nerfherder1428 15:06, October 3, 2009 (UTC)

:This helmet appearing in Reach bears remarkable resemblance to the Halo 2 version of the ODST helmet, and is described as a replacement for the older model - given that, I would hazard the guess that the Halo 2 version of the armour is actually a newer Marine Corps armour intended to replace the CH252 helmet and M52B armour. It gets described in the game as such, while the newer version is never referred to in-game by designation - and remember that the Halo Encyclopedia has used fan speculation as well as canon fact. -- Specops306 Autocrat Qur'a 'Morhek 01:16, September 11, 2010 (UTC)

i will risk here and suggest that, maybe, all there are exactly the same helmet, just with diferents add ons and visual updates, for example, this is one of the first builds of the helmet for halo 4, has is put in the article :File:H4_marine_helmet.jpg, it looks like the halo 2 helmet with the extra guards of the halo 3 helmet, and the ODST helmet on halo 2 is exactly the same of the marine helmet, just that is sealed, but the helmet for halo 3 is diferent to its marine vertion right? well, look the picture of above and looks the art concept of the odst helmet , and look the halo 3 marine helmet :File:Helmet.jpg, why they look diferent? is a extra piece of armor on the front, this is how i support my theory --Zenaku9000 23:14, 26 November 2012 (EST)
