| On another note, if any of the other dead washouts were resuscitated and any of the crippled candidates were rehabilitated, as mentioned elsewhere in the journal, they might have taken part in the Fall of Reach, thus explaining the numbers discrepancy. As of the Fall of Reach, Cassandra was undergoing rehab, Fhajad was still a data analyst, and Soren was almost certainly dead, but the rest are up for grabs, so to speak. --Courage never dies. 19:09, 8 May 2011 (EDT) | | On another note, if any of the other dead washouts were resuscitated and any of the crippled candidates were rehabilitated, as mentioned elsewhere in the journal, they might have taken part in the Fall of Reach, thus explaining the numbers discrepancy. | ::Theoretically, they could have been the Spartans Rene-081 and Kirk-018, having been rehabilitated. And they could also have been fighting on Reach, which means one of them could also be Malcolm-059. If someone would confirm this, it would decrease another discrepancy in the Spartan numbers.--Thijsbos 04:22, 17 October 2011 (EDT)

| I mention it here to open it up for discussion, but if nobody has any strong feelings against it, I'll make the appropriate edits later. | :I'm sure I read in FoR that you can see inscriptions on the outside of the HUD as well - a rank insignia, for example.-- <font color="blue">Fore</font><font color="green">run</font><font color="red">ner</font> 16:01, 20 September 2011 (EDT)

| ::On the visor, though? I know armor can have inscriptions like unit symbols or Spartan tags, but only on metal parts of the armor, like pauldrons or helmets. Taking into account that the numerals don't appear until after Iona makes specific mention about needing to tell them apart, as well as the fact that the numerals don't appear on their visors on the covers or promotional materials and are never mentioned in the short story in Evolutions, I have to conclude it's a narrative device. It shouldn't be described in their articles like it's actually present, just that, say, "Black One is distinguished from the others in the comic by the Roman numeral I." Or something like that.--CaptainRaspberry 10:25, 21 September 2011 (EDT)

| I've gone through the Waypoint forum thread, and I can't see anything indicating which Spartan is Margaret and which is Roma. Obviously, we already knew who Victor was, so this tells us who is Otto. But there's nothing to indicate which of Black-I and Black II is Margaret and which is Roma.--<span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:13pt;color:blue;"> Rusty</span><span style="font-size:13pt;color:red;">-</span><span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:13pt;color:blue;">112</span> <span style="color:red; font-family:Arial">Admin</span> <font color="blue">comm</font> 12:34, 2 July 2014 (EDT)

| :Yeah theres no way we can really tell. Earlier Jugus thought it best not to edit black one and two's pages until Catalog clarified who was who.<span style="color:red">Lord Susto</span> 12:43, 2 July 2014 (EDT)

| ::I've asked Catalog on Waypoint, so we'll have to wait and see if Revan's Exile's guess work was right. | :::For now, I think it's best to remove references of who is Black One and Two from the articles until we get a clarification. My guess is the order of their mention in the post is meant to distinguish who is who.-- 12:51, 2 July 2014 (EDT)
