Human Banshee? I don't see much banshee in it at all, just a very small amount from the front.Laghing rabt 04:06, November 27, 2009 (UTC)

::I'd say it most definitely is a Shortsword bomber. The contours and shape of the ship looks exactly like it does in the wallpaper of the Shortsword, as well as in the game itself, and in the Halo: The Essential Visual Guide. Of course, by now you must have already noticed. Besides, what else could it be? Xamikaze330 12:57, 3 October 2011 (EDT)Xamikaze330

yeah, they have diffrent pruposes, the shortsword is an atmospheric bomber, and the longsword is a space strikefighter. the longsword is efficent in space and can fight off serephs, but can also bomb larger ships, while the shortsword is mostly atmospheric an is only used to bomb. they have drastically diffrent purposes. I have no Idea where that thought came from.Laghing rabt 20:41, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

atmospheric craft?
there seems to be alot of questions on wether or not the shortsword is atmospheric or not, and my thoughts on this are that even though it can go through space from an orbiting ship to perform bombing runs in atmoshere, it still would likly qualify as atmospheric since it is probably to inefficient to use effectively in space, and besides the longsword can bomb in space, anyway.Laghing rabt 20:49, February 19, 2010 (UTC)
In Reach
I think these are in Reach. At the end of the mission defending the ONI sword base(second mission), in the cut scene, you see several ships chasing the Covenant Corvette just before it is destroyed by orbital bombardment. These looks like shortsword bombers. Zosima 17:02, September 20, 2010 (UTC)
: n/m apparently those were longswords.Zosima 17:05, September 20, 2010 (UTC)
Rename B-65 Suborbital Long-Range Bomber
Like the Longsword, the Shortsword receives an official designation that doesn't include its more common name. So I didn't want to rename it without community input.--Darth Oblivion 16:34, 6 July 2011 (EDT)

Missing Vehicle Data
Okay, I noticed that this article appears to be incomplete. The Armaments/Weapons section is lacking some critical information from Halo: The Essential Visual Guide, like its primary and secondary armaments. The Shortsword is equipped with M955 ASW/AC 30mm MLA machine guns as its primary weapon for I'm guessing dogfights, and also the M/RODAS Delivery System (Maastricht/Raleigh Ordnance Delivery-Application System), for the obvious use of dropping explosive bombs and the like. Not to mention there is a great deal of other critical information that must be included. I would do it myself, except I'm not sure I could do it right, which means someone is going to have to help out here. Have I missed anything else? Does anyone else agree that new information must be added? Xamikaze330 15:35, 11 September 2011 (EDT)Xamikaze330
:Agreed, I noticed that too. BushWookieCamper
::Thanks. Hopefully someone like an admin can help out, or something. This needs to be corrected. And I'm not sure how I'm to do it, especially with time running out for me. Xamikaze330 16:00, 11 September 2011 (EDT)Xamikaze330

I am aware of this fact, that someone will probably fix any mistakes I made, especially with the very first article I have created from Halo Legends: The Package. I don't have it but I heard from someone on Waypoint that there's a lot of information about the Shortsword that isn't mentioned in the article. If that's the case, could someone who has the Visual Guide add the missing info--Soul reaper 10:46, 3 October 2011 (EDT)

:"Suborbital" implies atmospheric use rather than space fighting. A bomber also tends to be a pretty poor dogfighter.--The All-knowing Sith'ari (talk) 12:12, 16 February 2013 (EST)
Yeah but its quite maneueverable and has a 30mm gun. As proven in the first mission of halo wars. LigerBans (talk) 23:04, 13 November 2015 (EST)
Operational History?
Shouldn't there be an Operational History section in the article? I mean, there are a lot of things that should be noted. Like what time it was fielded and when, and if it was still in operation a few decades later. Like I read in a chapter of the Kilo-Five Trilogy (I think it might have been Halo: The Thursday War) that Shortswords were still readily available to purchase on the black market. I don't remember the page number, nor can I look it up, as most of my novels are packed up in boxes and put into storage. I can easily add the section, but wouldn't be able to put in the necessary references when I don't have them. If someone who does have access please look it up, add the section and the info, then that would make things a little easier. --Xamikaze330 [Transmission|Commencing] 17:25, 10 June 2014 (EDT)Xamikaze330
