When fired and exposed to atmospheric oxygen, the coating burns with a white-hot intensity, rendering the spikes superheated and semi-molten. ==Production notes==
The so-called "[[Cut Halo 3 weapons#Spike Pepperbox|Spike Pepperbox]]" was a spike weapon created early in the [[Development of Halo 3|production]] of ''[[Halo 3]]'' as part of early ideation on the Spiker.
