High Charity is the mobile capital-ship of the Covenant. It is believed by the United Nations Space Command to be the central strategic coordination node and logistical hub of the Covenant navy.[1] It is home to billions, housing the Covenant's leadership and acting as a reliquary for their recovered Forerunner artifacts.[2]
Overview[edit]
Design[edit]
High Charity is believed by the UNSC to have have a gravity of roughly 0.9-1.0 and to have an artificial climate.[1] Inside the ship includes a vast cityscape[3] composed of temples and imperial administration offices with a Forerunner dreadnought in the center.[2]
Known residents[edit]
History[edit]
Covenant era[edit]
High Charity was completed in 791 BCE.[2]
Human-Covenant War[edit]
- Main article: Human-Covenant War/Silver
High Charity was believed to be located outside of human space during much of the Human-Covenant War, only being spotted by the UNSC over the glassed human colony of Harvest in 2540. Study of the station is considered a priority task of the Office of Naval Intelligence and all research of it is part of Project BASEARROW. BASEARROW specific sensor scans have acquired first-order estimates of size and mass, but no specific details on armaments or fleet compliment.[1]
In 2552, a kaidon would travel to High Charity to report his discovery that John-117 managed to activate a Forerunner Keystone to the hierarchs.[4] In 2553, Arbiter Var 'Gatanai and the First Fleet of Solemn Accord were recalled back to High Charity, but soon rebuffed the order to travel to a halo ring.[5]
