Skimmer Alpha and its contingent served under The [[Harbinger]] and thus also entered an alliance with [[War Chief]] [[Escharum]] and the [[Banished]] after the Harbinger was released from her [[cylix]] during the mercenary organization's [[Battle for Zeta Halo|occupation]] of [[Installation 07]]. At some point during the conflict, [[Spartan-IV]] [[Hudson Griffin]] encountered Skimmer Alpha's patrol and recorded a target dossier for them. He believed that eliminating the patrol and gathering any intel on the creatures—whether biological samples or simply strategic information—would be helpful in prolonging the [[UNSC]]'s continued existence on the ring, should the opportunity present itself.{{Ref/Reuse|Target13}} Separate [[Office of Naval Intelligence]] assessment of Skimmer Alpha and its contingent designated the targets as CODE RED and advised that the threat be eliminated on sight.{{Ref/Game|Id=TACMAP|HINF|[[TACMAP]] description, Skimmer Alpha}}

Skimmer Alpha resembles regular Skimmers, albeit with a darker shade of red armor.
