| | To see a '''Dead Shielded Elite''', you must play [[Halo: Combat Evolved]], where there is a glitch that allows you to see an [[Elite]]'s [[shield]], even when it is dead. |

| The '''shielded dead Elite''' [[glitches|glitch]] is a phenomenon that occurs in ''[[Halo: Combat Evolved]]'' and, when [[lag]] is involved, in ''[[Halo 3]]''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s [[multiplayer]]. It can cause the corpse of an [[Sangheili|Elite]] to still have an active [[Sangheili personal energy shield|personal energy shield]] despite the shield's deactivation typically being a prerequisite to them dying at all.

| ==Walkthrough==
| | To do this, start any level , and play through it as normal, until you reach an Elite. Do not attack him, instead, wait until you get behind him, then beat him in the back, so that he'll instantly die. Now that you've done that, shoot his corpse. It should flicker like the Elite is alive. This works with all types of Elites , even zealots. It doesn't work in [[Halo 2]] or [[Halo 3]]though. |

| |
| To perform this, find any Elite, in any level, on any difficulty. Without inflicting any damage on the Elite, [[assassin Medal|assassinate]] it. Then, shoot his corpse. It should flicker, as though the Elite's shield were still functioning. This works with all types of Elites, and even [[Sangheili Zealot|Zealots]]. | |
| | |
| The easiest way to see this glitch is to start [[Assault on the Control Room]], and play until you get to the bridge. There is an Elite on the lower level (usually a [[Sangheili Major|Major]]). Simply catch him off guard, assassinate him, and shoot his corpse to see the glitch.
