==Operational history==
The Baselard was one of the most prolific UNSC fighters in the 25th century, and was introduced decades prior to the onset of the [[Insurrection]] in the 2490s. At least twenty-four S-14 Baselards were deployed from the {{UNSCShip|Vanishing Point}} on [[2526#March|March 26, 2526]], during [[Battle over Etalan|an action]] against the [[Covenant]] over the [[Attack on Etalan|recently-]][[glassing|glassed]] colony of [[Etalan]].{{Ref/Reuse|HSS19}}{{Ref/Reuse|HSS20}} Four of the fighters were crewed by the [[Spartan-II]]s of [[Gold Team|Gold]] and [[Green Team]]s.{{Ref/Reuse|HSS20}}{{Ref/Reuse|HSS19}} Baselards continued to see service throughout the war up until its end, with at least a dozen Baselards taking part in the [[defense of Concord]] in [[2551]].
