| In 2552, when the [[Covenant]] attacked Reach, Freemont sent a signal to all UNSC ships in the Epsilon Eridani system,{{Ref/Note|Tantalus and Jericho were originally mentioned in the 2001 version of ''Halo: The Fall of Reach''. However, the ''2011 Definitive Edition'' removes the mention of Jericho and Tantalus.}} demanding an immediate recall of all vessels to Reach, due to a [[Fleet of Particular Justice|fleet]] of 314 Covenant vessels entering the system. He was supposedly [[Killed in action|KIA]] when the Covenant destroyed [[Fleet Command Headquarters|FLEETCOM HQ]].
