==History==
On [[2552#October|October 20, 2552]], the entire area was the center of heavy fighting between the [[United Nations Space Command|UNSC]] and the [[Covenant Empire|Covenant]] during the [[Battle of Mombasa]] in the [[Battle of Earth]]. Forces from the {{UNSCShip|In Amber Clad}} were dispatched to  Liberty Street, including the [[John-117|Master Chief]]. They were able to clear much of the area from the Covenant invaders, and chased a {{Pattern|Protos|Scarab}} into [[New Mombasa]].<ref name="h2ouskirts">''[[Halo 2]]'', campaign level [[Outskirts]]</ref>
