The Lambda Serpentis system is a planetary system known colloquially as Jericho. Lambda Serpentis was formerly the location of at least one of the humanity's colonies, Jericho VII.
The Lambda Serpentis System is a star system in the constellation Serpens. It is 38.3 light years from the Sol System and was formerly a part of the UNSC's outer colonies. At least one planet in the system was colonized by humans at one time: the planet Jericho VII.

History
In 2525, the UNSC Atlas went on a patrol in this system. In 2535, it fell to the Covenant and Jericho VII was glassed.
In 2535, the Covenant invaded the system and attacked the human colony of Jericho VII. Even though the United Nations Space Command deployed Spartan-IIs to help defend Jericho VII, the human defenses were overwhelmed and the Covenant glassed the planet.

Around September 2552, a massive fleet of Covenant warships was ordered to travel to the Lambda Serpentis system to collect tritium gas for their reactors in preparation to rendezvous with Unyielding Hierophant at the Hawking system before embarking on a mass slipspace jump to Earth in the Sol system.
In 2552, a Fleet of Covenant ships was ordered to go to the Lambda Serpentis system to collect Tritium gas for their reactors in preparation to rendezvous with the Unyielding Hierophant and mass Slipspace jump to Earth, indicating that the system is now home to a Covenant refueling station at the very least. As such, it is one of few UNSC systems not entirely glassed and actually inhabited by the Covenant.

Trivia
Sources
Halo: The Fall of Reach erroneously describes the system as having two reddish suns. This may indicate that the Jericho and Lambda Serpentis systems were not originally intended to be synonymous.
