The name Hugin comes from the Norse word "Hugin", which means "thought". Hugin, along with Munin, which means "memory", is one of a pair of ravens associated with the Norse god Odin. Odin would send the ravens out in the morning and they would travel the world, gather information, return in the evening, and perch on his shoulder to share the news they gathered. These two names follow the [[List of Norse Mythology References in Halo|theme of Norse mythology]] on Harvest.
