When the {{UNSCShip|In Amber Clad}} dispatched [[Dropship 77-Troop Carrier|Pelicans]] full of relief troops for the massive battle going on inside the city, one of those Pelicans was shot down by a [[Type-47 Ultra Heavy Assault Platform|Scarab]] near the hotel. The [[UNSC Marine Corps|Marines]] who survived the crash set up a command post inside the hotel lobby.
