Cortana can handle the Index - stopping Truth is up to you.
The second-last Halo 2 singleplayer level. As the Master Chief, you must battle your way through the Flood-infested High Charity to stop the Prophet of Truth before he boards the Forerunner Ship. This is the last level you get to play as the Master Chief in Halo 2. This level is also the second and last level Master Chief saw the Flood in the whole game of Halo 2. The first level Master Chief saw the Flood is 'Gravemind (Level)'.

High Charity is the fourteenth and penultimate campaign level of Halo 2. As the Master Chief, the player must battle their way through the Flood-infested High Charity to stop the Prophet of Truth before he boards the Forerunner Dreadnought. This is the last level played from Master Chief's perspective in Halo 2; the next and final level, The Great Journey, returns to the Arbiter as a playable character. This level is also the only time when Master Chief encounters the Flood in combat in Halo 2, and also the only level in the game with no allies aiding the player. It is also the shortest playable campaign level. The Iron Skull can be found on this level.

A swarm of Yanme's enter through a broken window looking out over the massive chamber that the Chief previously traversed. The insectoid aliens engage the Flood. ==Walkthrough==

*Cortana: "Jump in, now!"
In stark contrast to the beautiful, open level design of Uprising, High Charity returns us to a gloomy, highly linear environment similar to that of Gravemind. To make matters even more dismal, the area is now infested with the flood, who fortunately spend as much time fighting the Covenant as they do pestering us (hooray). Once again, there are no Elites to be found among your opponents, but all of the other Covenant members make an appearance. As with previous flood levels, though, the combat can often be avoided if you move ahead without hesitation. You'll begin outside on an open platform. After a quick dash to the lift and a battle in a cavernous, mostly empty room, you'll make your way through a series of dark, cramped corridors. The level opens up somewhat for two final battles more expansive settings, as we part ways with the Chief for this installment of the series.

The Chief jumps into the conduit.
Part 1: Cross-Purposes
I never thought I'd see a level that could make the Library look downright cheerful by comparison. Well, at least it's relatively short, and we'll be taking every opportunity to get this one over and done with as quickly as possible.

{Cutscene}
As the level opens, you find yourself outside on a large, open platform with the flood and Covenant already battling it out a short distance away. You start out armed with a carbine and plasma pistol, which will do for the time being. Switch to your plasma pistol and proceed along the right ramp. It's certainly possible to run through the door and the room inside to the lift without engaging the enemy.
Cutscene}

However, one of the enemies on the right usually carries an energy sword, which can be a great help to you in a few upcoming encounters. Thus, I'd suggest joining the battle at least long enough to acquire the sword; from that point, you can choose either to run or stick around and fight a bit.
The Chief travels through the conduit — a tube of green energy — at an extremely high speed. The conduit disengages as the Forerunner Dreadnought starts to launch, and John hurtles into the ship through a large portal, landing with scrapes flickering off his armor as a large set of doors closes behind him.

*Cortana (COM): "Chief, when you get to Earth...good luck."
When you reach the top of the lift, head down the hall and pick up one of the beam rifles. As you move onward a bit farther, you'll find a massive, cavernous room, passable only by traversing the light bridges (much like you did in Gravemind) that connect the smaller platforms around the periphery. This area seems to have been made just for drones, and, sure enough, several of them will buzz through shortly after you arrive on their way to engage the flood on the left platform.

*John-117: "After I'm through with Truth..."
While it's possible to wait around and let the battle play itself out, it can take a while, and you don't really gain much from it since you'll be doing most of the work at long range anyway. Thus, I'd suggest that you just go ahead and start sniping the drones.

*Cortana (COM): "Don't make a girl a promise..."
As you can see, a second group of drones will enter from the right after you take out the first group; so be sure to get them all, as the last thing you want is to be caught out in the open with drones around. If you really want to be on the safe side, you can snipe the flood, too, or at least shoot off their weapon arms, or if they're very still, snipe the spots where their "hearts" will be, that'll kill them. I'd also suggest either picking up a fresh sniper rifle or switching back to your original carbine. There's actually only one more major battle coming up on this level, and an argument can probably be made for either choice. If I had to pick one, I'd say that the sniper rifle might be the slightly safer bet.

Cut to Cortana back on the balcony outside
In any case, when you're ready step into the glowing circle and proceed to the platform on the left. Clean up any remaining flood that might be threatening you here, and step onto the next circle to cross to the platform opposite the entrance.

*Cortana: "...if you know you can't keep it."
This encounter can be difficult, as you'll be caught between two groups of enemies, both bent on your destruction. After a short time, several drones will ambush you from behind, and three flood will enter as you approach the door. You'll need to make it through the flood and out of the immediate area as quickly as possible, before the drones tear you apart. To this end, two well-placed grenades can clear the way nicely, as long as you head right for the door as soon as you arrive. The sword is also a possibility if you're careful to get away before the drones kill you.

Cortana watches the ship rise, and exit through the top of High Charity, where Jiralhanae-controlled and Sangheili-controlled ships are continuing to destroy one another. Soon the Dreadnought enters slipspace, and vanishes.
Part 2: Please, Make Yourself at Home
This section consists of a non-stop crawl through a series of oppressively dark corridors. While you'll encounter both flood and Covenant opposition, they'll usually be too busy fighting each other to bother with you, unless you draw attention to yourself. Note that you may not get a checkpoint at the chapter transition, so be careful.

Fades to black.
Other than that, there's not much to say about this part. If you're dead-set on fighting your way through, obviously you should try to attack your enemies from behind as much as possible while they're distracted. Once in a while you'll encounter a rocket-launcher flood along the way; in that case, be sure to pick up his weapon, as it can be a great help in the next battle.

Level ends.
Activate at the elevator at the end, and get ready for a difficult battle.

Production notes
Part 3: Sanctified
During the production of High Charity, the level was intended to feature a Warthog run at the mission's conclusion. The level was to feature a trench run that involved massive, horizontal grav-lift transporters that you could drive a Warthog into and through. The Warthog run took place in several tubes which were divided by the aforementioned grav-lifts, and John-117 was going to travel along these tubes in a Warthog in order to board the Prophet of Truth's Forerunner ship.
In this room you'll once again find yourself caught between the flood and the Covenant, though on a much larger scale than last time. When you arrive, a sizable number of Covenant troops, including several brutes and jackals and sometimes a jackal sniper, are stationed on the far side of the room between you and the exit. You'll also find three grunts a bit closer to the elevator, among the levitating pillars.

The trench run would have been timed, much like the trench run from the level The Maw in Halo: Combat Evolved. The tubes would have centered around the Conduit and many enemies would have fought along the geometry. The enemies that would have appeared in the run include the Flood, Jiralhanae, Unggoy, Kig-Yar, Yanme'e, and several Brute-manned Type-46 Spectres.
Normally, this arrangement wouldn't be much of a problem; however, before long waves of flood will begin spawning in the four short, elevated tunnels along the side and dropping down into the room. Thus, it's very easy to find yourself surrounded before you know it. There are a couple of different approaches I've found for this situation, though all of them rely on luck to some extent.

Some incomplete map geometry that was intended for the warthog trench run was left on the disk. The Halo 2 mod "Induction" re-used the map geometry in a multiplayer level.
One option, of course, it to attack quickly and punch through the Covenant before the flood can close in behind you. You don't have much time to stand around and snipe, so your best bets for this tactic are probably either the rocket launcher (if you were lucky enough to acquire one) or grenades. Depending on the situation, you can try either sticking the brutes with plasma grenades, or simply spamming the area with everything you have (no reason to hold anything back at this point) and hope that you can clear a path. The position of the enemies will vary widely from trial to trial, so you'll have to use your own judgment to gauge your direction of approach. Try to pick the likeliest side, thin out the enemies if you can, and then just keep moving until you reach the door. The door won't open immediately, though the corridor does provide a bit of cover from enemies off to the side.

Trivia
Note that you can actually knock down the levitating pillars, which may help to put a few extra obstacles between you and the approaching flood. It doesn't make a tremendous difference, but every little bit of advantage may help.
Glitches
Glitches
*The Flood Juggernaut's data (such as model, textures, etc.) are stored on this .map file, although it only has spawn points on Quarantine Zone and The Oracle, where its data is not present.
*When you get to the last room with the green beam across the room to the ship, you can get on the beam by just going on top of one of the Covenant boxes and then jumping on the beam and walking forward, but you will have to stop, because if you go any farther the cutscene will start.
*If you knock a Combat Form off the side of the ramps of the Phantom dock, it will climb up the walls, similar to the ones that do the same during the elevator ride in The Oracle. But, they cannot jump onto the deck.
*Some Flood biomass can be destroyed. It must be small, and will just disappear and leave a bit of Flood blood.
*Exclusive to the Anniversary version, if this level loads after playing the previous (instead of setting it up from the campaign menu), the opening cutscene will abruptly stop before the Flood combat forms exit the crashed Pelican and screech into the air.

Mistakes
If you find that approach to be unworkable, another option is to hide and wait until the flood take care of the Covenant for you. The best hiding spot, in my opinion, is one of the tunnels in which the flood appear.
*There is still a Phantom docked on the landing pad at the start of the level, but an energy field prevents you from walking on the back fins. It should also be noted that it has no weaponry.

Easter eggs
From that position, all you really have to do is wait until the commotion dies down, finish off any flood that remain, and head to the exit. The biggest danger with this approach, in my experience, is that sometimes a flood with a sniper rifle will spawn in the tunnel directly across from you. In that case, your first warning of his presence usually consists of a .50 caliber round perforating your skull. Thus, you'll just have to hope he doesn't make an appearance. Also, several flood might actually spawn in the tunnel with you, but they won't notice you as long as you stay at the very back and don't draw attention to yourself.
Easter eggs
*The Iron Skull can be found on this level.
*A dead body of a Brute that looks just like Tartarus can be found on this level in one of the many rooms; he has the exact same shoulder piece (which is easy to recognize).
*In the room with the glass shards hanging from the ceiling after the corridor where you first hear Truth over the loudspeaker, there is an unknown and hard-to-see switch that looks just like the switches used to activate the gondolas on the level Delta Halo, as well as the ones used to activate the elevators on the Arbiter and Oracle levels. To see it (with the best view), bring a Particle Beam Rifle and head to the platform on the other side of the chamber (across from where you entered). Once you get there, head to the glowing panel in the platform (it points to the center of the room). Look to your left at the platform and the door where the Drones come from (when you reach the platform). Look at that platform's glowing panel, zoom in to 5×, and look up slightly. You should see the switch around there, and you can zoom in to 10× and see the switch in closer detail. However, there is no known way to get to it (unless by mod) and activate it, so its purpose is unknown.
* The twelfth terminal is a Covenant terminal to the left of the door after entering the Inner Sanctum.

If you don't like either one of these tactics, you could also try something in-between, balancing speed with a bit of extra caution. If you take out the three grunts and then run back and hide behind the elevator, the flood will soon show up and engage the Covenant. This added distraction may make it easier for you to fight your way to the door along one side of the room (obviously, the side where the battle isn't taking place). You may also try a similar tactic from one of the elevated tunnel entrances.
*The darkly lit room decorated with glowing blue crystals is a section of the Sanctum of the Hierarchs, first mentioned in Halo: First Strike.
*The Prophet of Truth talks over the loudspeakers from time to time during the level, one of these times he says that "one final effort is all that remains". This line is repeated by Admiral Hood in Halo 3. This line originates from dialog recording sessions conducted pre-Halo where Jaime Griesemer is directing Jason Jones in a painful attempt at a Scottish accent. One Final Effort is also the name of a track on the Halo 3: Original Soundtrack.

Miscellaneous
Whatever you choose, when you make it through the exit head through the door on the right and into the lift, which will take you up to the final battle.
*The Flood mass in the Pelican's cockpit resembles a Proto-Gravemind, and is likewise being used to pilot a craft, but is significantly smaller than the one encountered aboard the Truth and Reconciliation.
*In the beginning of the level, Pelicans will appear around the area. They can be approached, jumped on, and shot at but not boarded.
*The Drones that engage the Flood combat forms have a unique brown exoskeleton.
*Just like in Gravemind, the spires that appear in the Sanctum of the Hierarchs can fall if the anti-gravity generator is destroyed. Like in Gravemind, this can not only be used to provide some cover, but also kill any Brutes, Grunts or Flood (with the right timing). You will also notice that one of them has already fallen, once the elevator reaches the top. (These will provide protection from Covenant and Flood fire)
*During the part where you reach a canyon-like indoor area where you encounter the Drones a second time, if you look out the window, you can see strange tentacles, evidently part of the Gravemind as it assembles a body on High Charity from its inhabitants.
*This is the only level where you can see a Flood combat forms with a Brute Shot and Brute Plasma Rifle in Halo 2. It is also the only level where Flood can be fought with the aforementioned weapons. It is also the only level in the original trilogy in which the Flood wield the latter weapon.
*On Legendary, it is possible to see some invisible Elite Combat Forms and Human Combat Forms walking around. Typically, during the fight in front of the Hierarchs' private quarters as one of the last waves of Flood coming from the elevated platforms. This is the second known instance of invisible Flood, the first being the armory on The Maw in Halo: Combat Evolved.
*While this level is the only level where Master Chief fights the Flood in Halo 2, it is also the only level where no living Sangheili are encountered.
*High Charity and The Covenant are the only levels in the trilogy in which Brutes can be encountered combating the Flood on screen. It is also the only level where Drones fight Flood.
*High Charity is the last level in Halo 2 in which Grunts are encountered as enemies.
*This level was supposed to have a Warthog run where John-117 escapes from High Charity. Using modding, or Glitches, the player can still access the area. A Halo user called Black Diamond restored it by putting in scripts and spawns. It was cut due to time constraints.

Part 4: Once More, With Feeling
Design documentation
At the top of the lift, you probably won't be surprised at this point to discover the flood and Covenant engaged in yet another battle. Fortunately, this one is much easier to bypass than the last. Your goal is the end of the platform, next to Cortana, and you can usually make it there without much trouble simply by running around one side.

Halo 2
Note that there may be a jackal sniper near the end, which you can eliminate with your sniper rifle or carbine, as necessary. There seems to be no end to the flood, so sticking around to fight is rather pointless.
