When the marines failed to activate the map, the Covenant murdered them in frustration. [[Roland]] was able to detect their [[IFF]] tags and had [[Fireteam Crimson]] search for them. When [[Jared Miller]] attempted to contact them there was no response. When Crimson arrived at their location they found only Hawk's IFF tags.
