===Forerunner-Flood War===
Habit-To-Sever fought and died in the height of the [[Forerunner-Flood war]]. Late in the conflict, Habit fought alongside fellow warriors [[Animus-To-Remain]] and [[Malice-Begets-Demise]] in the defence of the [[shield world]] [[Trove]]. During the battle, the three Prometheans fought a sacrificial defensive effort to defend the shield world's damaged monitor [[295 Harken Watch]], allowing it to retreat and seal off the shield world interior from Flood forces.{{Ref/Reuse|Enc22}}

At some point, an [[essence]] of Habit-To-Sever (alongside those of Animus, Malice and [[Endurance-of-Will]]) was discovered by [[human]] forces of the [[United Nations Space Command]], and implemented into the [[War Games]] training simulations for [[Spartan Operations]] personnel. During the simulations, Habit-To-Sever was titled "Commander Sever", and took the form of an orange-coloured [[Knight Commander]] with blue [[hard light]] accents.{{Ref/Reuse|H5WZ}}
